My research interests connect wearable sensing, transportation, and land use to understand how people experience cities in everyday life. I am interested in how the places people move through shape physical activity, environmental exposure, and well-being—and how this evidence can inform planning decisions.

I explore how wearable devices, GPS, and mobile sensing can connect people’s movement and physiological responses with the environments they encounter. My literature review examines physical activity alongside stress, recovery, and sleep, with an emphasis on aligning observations in time and space.

This perspective supports more detailed questions about streets, parks, and daily journeys, while attending to measurement quality, representation, and the privacy of personal data.

I am interested in how urban form, transportation networks, and land-use patterns relate to everyday travel. Key questions concern walkability, street connectivity, access to destinations, and the environmental exposures people encounter along their routes.

Connecting these spatial conditions with observations of actual movement and activity can help evaluate urban changes at the scale of streets, corridors, and neighborhoods.
